June 5 (Reuters) – General Motors Co (GM.N) said on Monday it plans to invest more than $1 billion to re-tool two manufacturing sites in Flint, Michigan to prepare for a new generation of its internal combustion engine heavy-duty (HD) trucks.

MILAN, June 5 (Reuters) – Italy’s government has no need to directly invest in Stellantis (STLAM.MI) as the carmaker is doing well, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti suggested on Monday, echoing similar comments made last week by the group’s chairman.

MILAN, June 5 (Reuters) – Carmaker Stellantis (STLAM.MI) and Belgian metals recycler Galloo have entered exclusive talks to create a joint venture focused on parts and material recycling from end-of-life vehicles, the two companies said on Monday.
The preliminary deal is part of the carmaker’s strategy to expand its so-called “circular economy” business, which includes vehicle reconditioning and dismantling as well as reuse of parts and materials, amid industry fears of a prolonged shortage of raw materials.

June 1 (Reuters) – Stellantis (STLAM.MI) will invest 160 million euros ($176.13 million) at its Rennes plant to launch a 100% electric compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in 2025, the Franco-Italian-American car manufacturer said on Thursday.

June 1 (Reuters) – Ford Motor Co (F.N) sued Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in U.S. court on Wednesday, accusing it of a price-fixing conspiracy that caused the automaker to pay inflated costs for health insurance products for its employees.
The lawsuit Ford filed in Detroit federal court accused the insurer and its regional Michigan branch of unlawfully dividing up parts of the country in a scheme to reduce competition with each other in order to drive “astronomical profits.”

BANGKOK, May 30 (Reuters) – China’s Great Wall Motor Co Ltd (601633.SS) is finalising plans to invest up to $30 million to set up a new battery pack assembly plant in Thailand, where it will start making a compact electric car next year, according to a company official.
