WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – General Motors is recalling about 450,000 pickup trucks and SUVs in the United States due to a potentially inoperative low brake fluid warning light, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Friday.

State-run Kadamba Transport Corporation chairman Ulhas Tuenkar said the proposal is a welcome one and will go a long way in reviving the transport undertaking.

“IIT Alumni has agreed to spend INR 700 crore for the revival of mass public transport in the state. It has been approved by the cabinet. The state government plans to roll out 500 EV buses under this initiative,” the chief minister told PTI.

Source : PTI | Chennai: The plan to roll out six new products, including two electric vehicles under the Franco-Japanese automotive alliance Renault Nissan, at a total outlay of INR 5,300 crore has been progressing and is on schedule, a top official of French car major Renault India said on Wednesday. Renault-Nissan, in February 2023, had announced investments of USD 600 million (about INR 5,300 crore) in India, to bring in six new products, including two electric cars, and an upgradation of their Chennai plant.

The company has introduced “Veero” light commercial vehicle in the less than 3.5 tonne range with both diesel and CNG trims, with price starting at INR 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Source : PTI | Kolkata: The West Bengal transport department has decided to streamline the registration of e-rickshaws and phase out unregistered and illegally manufactured vehicles. The decision was taken in view of representations from various bodies about the plying of lakhs of unregistered e-rickshaws built in workshops without following any standard manufacturing procedures or safety guidelines.

A senior transport department official said that district magistrates have been asked to identify battery-operated unregistered e-rickshaws built clandestinely at local garages and phase them out in a time-bound manner.
