Source : PTI | A complete shift from older vehicles to electric vehicles in 44 Indian cities with a population of at least 10 lakh could avoid 11.5 tonnes of PM2.5 emissions every day by 2035 and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 61 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, according to a new study. The study, published by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), said it would also save more than 51 billion litres of petrol and diesel and reduce India’s oil import bill by an estimated ₹9.17 lakh crore ($106.6 billion) by 2035.

Of this, the offer for sale portion comprises nearly Rs 355-crore, the company said.

Ather Energy also said it remains bullish on its scooter portfolios in the coming few years and that distribution expansion will drive a lot of growth in the near-term for the company.

Source : PTI | Electric two-wheeler firm PURE on Wednesday said it has introduced a battery based 5MWh grid storage product for grid stability and accelarting the integration of renewable energy sources. The PuREPower grid product is expected to find usage across solar and wind projects, large commercial and industrial establishments and across EV fast charging stations on highways.

Addressing a press conference, PURE Founder & MD Nishanth Dongari said the company is set to invest Rs 400 crore in the next 18 – 36 months in energy storage products to expand battery and power electronics production and in-house firmware capabilities, boosting its capacity to 2.5 GWh from the current 250 MWh.
