New Delhi: Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) participated at the Auto Expo – 2023, India’s flagship motor show organized by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh and another stall at Automotive Components Manufacturers Association of India’s (ACMA) expo at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The stalls were inaugurated by Vinod Aggarwal, ASDC President, with the purpose of showcasing the skilling initiatives of the council before the industry and to make the industry understand the importance of skilling for the automotive industry and the need to attract young professionals to join the industry. “The Art of Restoration” Book Cover launched at AutoExpo 2023 by Siam President Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Ltd. along with SIAM DG Rajesh Menon and Cartist Founder, Himanshu Jangid. The book, The Art of Restoration, will be launched on 18 April, 2023 on World Heritage Day.

The book is a part of Cartist project “The Art of Restoration”, a six-months project which documents the process of car restoration on two iconic cars, Ambassador 1959 Mark II and Cadillac 1954 fleetwood sixty special.

It would be a guide for the upcoming generation to pursue the hobby of restoring classic cars and to empower them with the knowledge of tools, processes and technical know-how. It will cover planning , body panel, mechanicals, upholstery and paint finish topics to help the youngster understand the process of restoration. The book will also feature stories of cars restored by Himanshu Jangid in the past along with automobile artworks of contemporary artists across India.

Greater Noida, 16^th January 2023: Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the apex automotive industry body today organized the International Conference on Sustainable Circularity in association with European Union: Resource Efficiency Initiative (EU-REI), themed “Recycling in Indian Mobility Context”. The conference witnessed participants discussing the way forward for achieving affordable sustainability aligned with policy changes and future of RVSFs & ELV recycling in the Indian context. The Conference aimed at bringing together Industry Stakeholders and Government representatives at the highest level to create a pathway to Circular Economy in India.

The inaugural session was themed “Recycling of Vehicle scrappage: A panacea for several ills”. The Surakshit Safar pavilion was inaugurated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Government of India with Shri Vinod Agarwal, President SIAM and many other eminent members from the automobile industry graced the inaugural session on January 12, 2023 at Auto Expo 2023. Source : PTI : The government on Friday said the overall ethanol production capacity in India is expected to go up by 25 per cent to 1,250 crore litres by the end of this year, as proactive steps have been taken for faster clearance of projects. A single-window clearance has been put in place wherein ethanol projects seeking interest subvention and environment clearances are given faster clearance. “As on today, more than Rs 20,000 crore worth loans have been sanctioned by the banks for ethanol projects, Out of which Rs 10,000 crore has already been disbursed under the interest subvention scheme,” said Sangeet Singla, Director of Sugar and Vegetable Oils under the aegis of the Union Food Ministry.

GREATER NOIDA, India, Jan 12 (Reuters) – Tata group is considering setting up plants in India and Europe to produce battery cells for electric vehicles (EV), the chief financial officer of its auto unit told Reuters in an interview.

With total sales of 50,000 electric cars to date, India’s Tata Motors dominates the country’s EV market and has outlined plans to launch 10 electric models by March 2026. GREATER NOIDA, India Jan 11 (Reuters) – Tata Motors (TAMO.NS) plans to expand its electric car portfolio with new models and higher price points, its managing director said on Wednesday, as it looks to cement its lead as the top selling electric vehicle (EV) company in India.
