LONDON, Jan 10 (Reuters) – Amazon (AMZN.O) plans to shut three warehouses in Britain in a move that will impact 1,200 jobs, but workers will be given the chance to transfer to other units, the online retail giant said on Tuesday.

India needs to “decarbonise” its transport sector quickly as the country has the potential to be a global torch-bearer in bio-fuels, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Sunday. WASHINGTON, Jan 6 (Reuters) – General Motors (GM.N) said Friday it wants the U.S. Treasury to reconsider classification of GM’s electric Cadillac Lyriq to allow it to qualify for federal tax credits.

The Treasury and Internal Revenue Service did not classify the Lyriq as an SUV, meaning its retail price cannot be above $55,000 to qualify for up to $7,500 in federal tax credits. The Lyriq currently starts at $62,990. SUVs can be priced at up to $80,000 to qualify, while cars, sedans and wagons can only be priced at up to $55,000. Oil companies are selling petrol at a profit of Rs 10 per litre but retail prices haven’t been reduced as they recoup past losses and make up fora Rs 6.5 a litre loss on diesel, a report said. State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd
(HPCL) have for the past 15 months not revised petrol and diesel prices in line with the cost. They have times of low oil prices to recoup losses incurred when rates were high.

“Post record high losses of Rs 17.4 per litre on petrol and Rs 27.7 a litre diesel for the week ended June 24, 2022, margins for petrol are estimated at a positive Rs 10 per litre for Q3 (October-December 2022) while diesel losses too have likely narrowed to Rs 6.5 a litre for the same quarter,” ICICI Securities said in a report. German automotive group BMW on Tuesday reported record sales of its luxury cars and motorcycles in India at 19,263 units in 2022. Customer deliveries of cars of both brands BMW and MINI registered a growth of 35 per cent at 11,981 units last year, which was the highest-ever, BMV Group India said in a statement.

BMW India registered sales of 11,268 units at a growth of 37 per cent and MINI India of 713 units, up 11 per cent from 2021, it added.
