Source : PTI | The Delhi Traffic Police issued 751 challans in a day to motorists for riding two-wheelers without helmets during a special enforcement drive conducted across the northern range, an official said on Tuesday.
Traffic personnel were deployed at strategic locations to check violations of the mandatory helmet rule.
A total of 751 motorists were prosecuted for riding without helmets during the drive on August 31, they said.
The Traffic Police reiterated that wearing a helmet is not merely a legal requirement but an important safety measure that can help prevent fatal and serious injuries in road crashes.
