Hero MotoCorp has announced the appointment of Sachin Agrawal as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective May 21, 2026. This leadership transition marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing transformation towards future mobility solutions.
Agrawal succeeds Vikram Kasbekar, who will step down from the CTO role while continuing as Executive Director on the company’s Board, ensuring continuity in leadership.
With nearly three decades of experience in automotive research and development, Agrawal brings deep expertise across product engineering, powertrain systems, and electric mobility. Prior to joining Hero MotoCorp, he served as Executive Vice President and Head of R&D and Technology at VE Commercial Vehicles, where he led large-scale innovation programs.
In his new role, Agrawal will spearhead Hero MotoCorp’s global R&D transformation. He will oversee operations at both the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) in India and the Hero Tech Centre Germany (TCG), focusing on advancing electrification, alternative fuels, and connected mobility solutions.
The appointment aligns with Hero MotoCorp’s strategic push toward next-generation mobility, including electric and software-defined vehicles. The company aims to strengthen its innovation capabilities and accelerate the development of future-ready, customer-centric technologies under Agrawal’s leadership.
Industry observers view this move as a key milestone in Hero MotoCorp’s journey to reinforce its technological edge and global R&D footprint in an increasingly competitive mobility landscape.
