Hyundai expects SUVs to account for 65% of its total volumes this year

Source : PTI | Hyundai Motor India expects sports utility vehicle sales to account for 65% of its overall volumes in 2024, the company’s COO Tarun Garg said. The company, which currently gets around 60% of its overall volumes from SUV sales, plans to invest INR 7,000 crore on its second plant at Talegaon, according to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The company officials declined to comment.

The company also plans to commence production at the newly acquired manufacturing plant at Talegaon plant in Maharashtra next year, Hyundai Motor India COO Tarun Garg said.

Hyundai Motor India Tuesday launched the new Creta at a starting price of INR 10.99 lakh. It promises a paradigm shift with cutting-edge technology, segment defining safety, exhilarating performance and comfort and convenience features, the company said.

Building on the success and legacy of the Creta brand, the new Hyundai Creta is powered by a mix of powertrains including- 1.5 l MPi Petrol (6MT/ IVT) which produces 115 PS of max. power, 1.5 l U2 CRDi Diesel (6MT/ 6AT) churning out 116 PS and a power packed 160 PS 1.5 l Turbo GDi Petrol (7DCT), to provide superior driving experiences to customers, the company said in a media release.
