Milan Nedeljković is a distinguished German-Serbian automotive executive and the Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG. He assumed the position on 14 May 2026, succeeding Oliver Zipse, and brings more than three decades of experience within the BMW Group across manufacturing, production, quality, and corporate leadership.
Born in 1969 in Kruševac, Serbia, Milan Nedeljković studied Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He later earned a Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) from the Technical University of Munich, specialising in metal forming and casting.
Milan Nedeljković began his career with the BMW Group in 1993 as a trainee in Munich. He subsequently held a series of management positions at BMW’s Munich and Regensburg plants before taking on international leadership responsibilities. His experience includes serving as Head of Paint Shop at MINI Plant Oxford, Head of Assembly at BMW Group Plant Leipzig, and Managing Director of BMW’s Leipzig and Munich plants.
In 2018, Milan Nedeljković became Senior Vice President of Corporate Quality, overseeing quality-related activities across the BMW Group. In October 2019, he joined the Board of Management of BMW AG with responsibility for Production, a role in which he helped steer the company’s global manufacturing operations and production strategy.
As Chairman of the Board of Management, Milan Nedeljković is leading BMW Group during a significant period of transformation in the automotive industry. His priorities include manufacturing excellence, electrification, technological innovation, sustainability, operational efficiency, and the development of BMW’s next-generation vehicle portfolio, including the company’s Neue Klasse strategy.
Known for his strategic foresight, implementation expertise, and entrepreneurial approach, Milan Nedeljković brings extensive hands-on manufacturing experience to the leadership of BMW Group. His career across BMW’s production facilities and senior management functions gives him a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing, global operations, quality, and technology-driven transformation.
With more than 30 years of experience at BMW Group, Milan Nedeljković is now leading one of the world’s most recognised automotive companies as it navigates the transition toward electric mobility, digitalisation, sustainable manufacturing, and next-generation automotive technologies.
