Anuj Guglani, Founder & CEO – WAF – World Auto Forum & Author – Oye Hoye!

✨ Biography of Anuj Guglani

Anuj Guglani is a rare blend of engineer, entrepreneur, storyteller, and dreamer. Born and raised in Delhi, his childhood carried the warmth and chaos of 1980s India — an era that would later inspire his debut novel Oye Hoye!.

After finishing school at St. Xavier’s and Springdales in Delhi, Anuj went on to study Mechanical Engineering at Nagpur University, before completing an MBA at IIT Delhi and later earning a Law degree from the University of Delhi. These three worlds — engineering, management, and law — gave him the unique ability to look at problems not just from a technical angle, but also from business and regulatory perspectives.

He began his career with Honda Cars and later General Motors, before founding his own consulting venture, Ace At Work. But his biggest calling came in 2009, when he created the World Auto Forum (WAF) — a global platform for the automotive and mobility community. Today, WAF connects professionals from more than 125 countries, becoming a trusted space for dialogue, innovation, and recognition in the industry. Under his leadership, WAF has grown into a respected think-tank, bridging OEMs, dealers, policymakers, suppliers, startups, and academia.

Even while building a name in the auto world, Anuj nurtured another side of himself — that of a writer and nostalgic storyteller. In 2023, he released his first book, Oye Hoye!, a humorous and heartwarming journey through the childhood and teenage years of the 80s and 90s. Written in Hinglish over 19 months on his mobile phone, the book is full of everyday mischief, friendships, crushes, and cultural touchstones like VCRs, cassette tapes, and Archies greeting cards. It resonated deeply with readers who grew up in that era and quickly became a bestseller in its category.

Beyond boardrooms and bookshelves, Anuj is also a family man and explorer. He lives in New Delhi with his family. A passionate foodie, he balances his love for hearty meals with running, swimming, and long drives to the hills and coasts of India.

At his core, Anuj Guglani is a connector of worlds — whether it’s industry and innovation at WAF, or past and present in his writing. His journey reflects both the speed of the automotive industry and the slow, lingering beauty of nostalgia.
