Hisashi Takeuchi is a distinguished global automotive executive and business leader, currently serving as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer. With nearly four decades of experience at Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), he has played a pivotal role in strengthening Suzuki’s global operations while leading Maruti Suzuki’s growth, innovation, and customer-centric transformation in one of the world’s largest automotive markets.
Hisashi Takeuchi joined Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1986, beginning a career that has spanned international operations, global automobile marketing, and strategic business leadership. Before taking charge of Maruti Suzuki, he served as Managing Director of Magyar Suzuki Corporation (Hungary) and later held several senior leadership positions at Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan, overseeing international business, global automobile marketing, and India operations. He joined the Board of Maruti Suzuki in 2019, became Joint Managing Director (Commercial) in 2021, and was appointed Managing Director & CEO in April 2022.
