JSW MG Motor India has announced a major production milestone, surpassing 15,000 units of the MG Windsor, India’s first Intelligent CUV. Since its launch, the Windsor has held the title of India’s best-selling EV for four consecutive months (October 2024 – January 2025), reinforcing its strong market demand and contributing to the country’s accelerating EV adoption.
The MG Windsor has maintained a steady influx of approximately 200 daily bookings, highlighting sustained customer interest. However, JSW MG Motor India has confirmed that ongoing facility upgrades at its Halol plant will temporarily impact production in February 2025. These modifications aim to expand capacity and prepare the facility for upcoming product launches under the new MG Select brand.
Biju Balendran, Deputy Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said, “The vehicle’s value-driven pricing, premium experience, and smart ownership programs—such as BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service), a buyback program, and a lifetime warranty—have significantly boosted consumer confidence in EVs. As we expand our portfolio, we remain committed to delivering high-quality vehicles to our customers with increased speed and efficiency.”
Discussing the Halol facility expansion, Balendran added, “We are ramping up production capacity to meet the growing demand for the Windsor while also preparing for new product launches under MG Select. As part of these facility upgrades, production will slow down temporarily in February, which may affect our wholesales during this period.”
MG Cyberster & MG M9 To Launch Under MG Select
As part of its growth strategy, JSW MG Motor India is set to introduce two new models—the MG Cyberster and MG M9—under MG Select, the company’s ‘accessible luxury’ brand channel. These upcoming launches reflect the company’s commitment to broadening its EV portfolio and enhancing premium yet affordable mobility options in India.
With 15,000 MG Windsor units produced and a strong order book, JSW MG Motor India continues to solidify its position as a key player in India’s electric vehicle revolution, ensuring long-term growth through product innovation, facility expansion, and customer-focused initiatives.
