Olof Persson is a distinguished Swedish business leader and automotive executive who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Iveco Group. He assumed the role on 1 July 2024, succeeding Gerrit Marx, and brings extensive international experience across commercial vehicles, industrial technology, transportation, manufacturing, and corporate leadership.
Born in 1964 in Sweden, Olof Persson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Karlstad University, completed in 1988. He began his professional career at ABB, where he held several positions before moving into senior leadership roles in the transportation and industrial sectors.
In 2006, Olof Persson joined Volvo Group as President of Volvo Aero and later became President of Volvo Construction Equipment in 2008. In 2011, he was appointed President and CEO of Volvo Group, a position he held for four years. His tenure gave him extensive experience in global commercial vehicles, construction equipment, manufacturing, technology, and international business operations.
Olof Persson subsequently joined Cerberus Capital Management as Senior Operating Executive in 2015. He also served in senior leadership positions at Bombardier Transportation, where he was appointed Division President, further broadening his experience across global transportation and industrial businesses.
In 2022, Olof Persson joined the Board of Iveco Group as an Independent Director when the company became listed on Euronext Milan. His familiarity with the Group and extensive commercial vehicle experience led to his appointment as CEO in 2024.
As CEO of Iveco Group, Olof Persson is focused on strengthening operational execution, quality, efficiency, customer value, and the development of electric and multi-energy commercial vehicle technologies. Under his leadership, Iveco Group is also pursuing a sharper focus on product quality, industrial performance and sustainable transportation solutions.
