Dhanbad, Jharkhand | Shriram Automall India Limited (SAMIL), India’s largest phygital marketplace for pre-owned vehicles, equipment, and other assets, launches its new Automall in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The opening marks a significant step in SAMIL’s expansion strategy aimed at strengthening organised asset auction infrastructure in high-potential regional markets.
The newly opened Dhanbad Automall has been established to cater to the increasing demand for structured, transparent, and professionally managed auctions in the region. With Jharkhand emerging as an important commercial and industrial hub, the facility is designed to support local businesses by offering improved accessibility, robust infrastructure, and seamless auction operations.
As part of its nationwide growth roadmap, SAMIL continues to expand its network across key trade centres through over 135 Automalls pan-India. In Jharkhand, the Dhanbad Automall joins SAMIL’s existing presence in Chandwa, Jamshedpur, and Ranchi, further reinforcing the company’s commitment to strengthening eastern India’s pre-owned asset ecosystem.

The inaugural auction at the Dhanbad Automall witnessed an encouraging response from the regional business community. Traders, transporters, and buyers participated actively, with more than 120 bidders engaging on opening day. The auction featured over 70 pre-owned assets across multiple categories, reflecting growing trust in organised auction platforms and transparent price discovery mechanisms.
The launch comes at a time when Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets are increasingly seeking technology-driven solutions for buying and selling pre-owned assets. The Dhanbad Automall is well-positioned to serve neighbouring districts, enabling smoother asset movement, improved buyer experience, and wider participation from across the region, thereby positioning Dhanbad as an emerging centre for organised auctions in eastern India.

Supporting Regional Trade Through Organised Platforms
Designed to meet evolving market needs, the Dhanbad Automall offers streamlined processes and enhanced operational capabilities. The facility will host auctions across a wide range of asset categories, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, and farm equipment, providing a consolidated marketplace for diverse buyer and seller segments.
By extending organised auction infrastructure closer to regional businesses, the Automall aims to promote transparency, regulatory compliance, and efficiency, while enabling sellers to access a wider, pan-India buyer base.

Technology-Enabled Auctions with National Reach
SAMIL’s phygital auction model integrates physical auction infrastructure with advanced digital platforms, allowing participants to engage seamlessly through both on-ground and online channels. The new Dhanbad Automall further strengthens this model by offering scalable infrastructure and operational readiness, ensuring consistent value discovery supported by technology, data insights, and nationwide connectivity.
The opening aligns with SAMIL’s broader objective of formalising the pre-owned asset ecosystem across emerging markets, where demand for organised and transparent transaction platforms continues to rise.
