Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, March 5, 2026: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the successful upgradation of Government ITI Deogiri in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar marking a key milestone in its ongoing MoU with the Government of Maharashtra to strengthen the state’s Industrial Training Institute (ITI) ecosystem. Additionally, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has also supported the upgradation of 16 Government ITIs across the Marathwada and Nagpur Divisions. This collaborative effort aims to empower rural youth by equipping them with world‑class technical skills, enabling them to become highly competent technicians and contribute meaningfully to India’s industrial growth.
The new roadmap in Maharashtra will focus on three key pillars:
- Faculty Development: Train-the-Trainer (T3) programs, knowledge enhancement sessions, and skill-building workshops hosted at Toyota’s Bidadi facility.
- Lab Equipment, Upgradation of Workshop and Materials: Industry-relevant tools, including Fundamental Skill Training (FST) kits, dexterity modules, visual learning boards and other standardized content will be provided.
- Culture Transformation: Introduction of body-and-mind development routines such as daily discipline exercises, classroom ethics and Toyota’s globally adopted 5S, environment awareness and safety protocols. Alongside technical training, the focus is on developing youth who embody values such as discipline, humility, gratitude and a mindset of serving others, ultimately becoming good corporate citizens of the Country. Further, the initiative will be sustained through regular audits, feedback and stakeholder involvement.
The program is rolled out in three phases to ensure maximum impact:
- Phase 1 (2025–26): 17 ITIs in the Marathwada and Nagpur divisions. [Completed]
- Phase 2 (2026–28): Expansion into Amravati and Nashik divisions
- Phase 3 (2029–30): Coverage of institutes in Mumbai and Pune divisions
Under this partnership, the upgraded Government ITI Deogiri, has been developed as a demonstration model for implementing a structured, scalable skilling framework across the state. The initiative is part of TKM’s broader commitment to support the development of 45 ITIs across 36 districts of the state of Maharashtra by 2030.
Additionally, from this academic year onwards, the institute will offer both manufacturing and service skill sets, ensuring broader employability opportunities aligned with the evolving automotive industry.

The ITI upgradation initiative complements the Government of India’s Skill India Mission, which is focused on strengthening ITIs and empowering youth with future-ready skills.
