Zelio E-Mobility starts production at 4th plant in Hisar

Source : PTI | Electric vehicle startup Zelio E-Mobility on Monday said it has started commercial production at its fourth manufacturing facility in Hisar, Haryana.

The new plant will have an annual capacity of 48,000 units for two-wheelers and 24,000 units for three-wheelers. With this, Zelio’s total annual production capacity will be expanded to 3.12 lakh units from the current 2.4 lakh units.

The company has started production of electric scooters under the Zelio brand and electric three-wheelers under its Tanga brand.

“The additional capacity is expected to come on stream during Q3 FY27, with production scaled according to dealer demand, product mix and supply-chain readiness,” the company said in a release.

Zelio said it has committed an investment of more than ₹20 crore for this facility. Apart from the new Hisar facility, Zelio has manufacturing facilities in Ladwa in Haryana, Cuttack in Odisha and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.

“Demand from our dealers and customers continues to grow, and this new plant in Hisar gives us a stronger base to deepen our presence across Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. We will continue to pursue this expansion with a firm focus on profitability and disciplined growth,” its MD Kunal Arya said.

Zelio currently has over 400 dealers across over 25 states and is targeting a network of more than 550 dealerships by this financial year-end.
