Martin Lundstedt is a distinguished Swedish automotive executive and the President and CEO of Volvo Group. He has led Volvo Group since October 2015, bringing extensive experience in the global commercial vehicle industry, particularly across manufacturing, sales, product development, sustainable transportation and business strategy.
Born on 28 April 1967 in Mariestad, Sweden, Martin Lundstedt studied at Chalmers University of Technology, where he earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He began his professional career with Scania in 1992, joining as a trainee and progressing through a series of senior management positions during more than two decades with the company.
Martin Lundstedt became President and CEO of Scania in 2012, where he was closely involved in the company’s development within the heavy commercial vehicle sector. His experience at Scania provided a strong foundation in areas including product development, production, sales and sustainable transport solutions before he moved to Volvo Group in 2015.
At Volvo Group, Martin Lundstedt oversees a global organization spanning trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine and industrial power solutions, financial services and autonomous transportation technologies. His leadership has focused on strengthening the Group’s competitiveness while supporting the transition toward more sustainable and technology-driven transportation.
Sustainable transportation has remained a significant area of Martin Lundstedt’s industry leadership. He has also served as Co-Chairman of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Advisory Group on Sustainable Transport, contributing to international discussions around the development of more efficient and sustainable transport systems.
Beyond his role at Volvo Group, Martin Lundstedt contributes to several industry and business organizations. He serves as Chairman of the Permobil Holding AB board and is a board member of Autoliv Inc., Industrikraft i Sverige AB, the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, and the International Chamber of Commerce Sweden. He is also associated with the European Round Table of Industry and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
